Ms. Greayer is a landscape designer
dedicated to building a world class design firm that specializes in developing unique residential,
hotel, spa, restaurant and other intimate public landscape projects. A strong family history of gardening
influenced her childhood in Colorado and she pursued her interest when she earned degrees in Applied Physics
and Environmental Science at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in New York and later Garden Design at The
English Gardening School in Chelsea, London, England.
Rochelle has contributed to the writing of two books about landscape design; The Garden Makers Manual (April 2005) with
Richard Sneesby and Rosemary Alexander and The Essential Garden Design Workbook (October 2004) with Rosemary Alexander. She has
designed show gardens for two Royal Horticultural Society flower shows. The first, the bronze medal winning
‘Silent Witness Garden’, was sponsored by the Junior League of London and was designed to raise awareness
about domestic violence issues. The Second, ‘The Kiva Spa Garden’ for the Chelsea Flower Show, was the
creation of an outdoor spa set in a Colorado native aspen grove and it highlighted the local influence of
Native Americans by incorporating a traditional kiva. Ms. Greayer has developed residential, hotel and spa
gardens for clients worldwide. As the principal of Greayer Design Associates,
she aims to create mood-inspiring spaces and develop an artistic aesthetic in landscape design.
Before opening Greayer Design Associates, Rochelle trained as a private pilot and held multiple project
management and senior management positions with high tech companies developing and implementing flight
and space related technology around the world.
While living and working in the UK, she was astounded by the deep cultural
interest in plants, design and gardening and hopes to help spread this fundamental interest in our environment
and the natural art that surrounds us to the US and beyond.
Rochelle is a member of the Garden Writers Association (GWA), the British Society
of Garden Designers (SGD), the Association of Professional Landscape Designers (APLD),
an associate of the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) and the Network of Executive Women
in Hospitality (NEWH). In her virtually non-existent spare time, she spends time with her family, volunteers
as a member of the Junior League of Boston and also serves on the board of directors for the
Harvard Farmers Market, a wildly successful venture that she and a couple of friends imagined for their
local community over glasses of wine and coffee.
